Lots of winter clothes, boots and boardening your charms to get along with the Londoners. The locals there are pretty close community, its not so easy to integrate. As long as you are friendly and easy going, you will be fine, they all are lovely and friendly people.
Lots of places to go around, few of it are: Convent Garden, Picadilly Circus, Oxford Cirucs, Soho, Marylebone, etc. You can get a good place to shop, eat, etc. Place to stay? London is expensive, its depends on your budget.
Its a lovely city with lots of pubs there (if you are a drinker), lots of historical buildings and lovely mountains is you go outside London. Go for a weekend off to travel around Scotland and Ireland, its worth to see.
Wish you all the best there
Cheers
