I am being harrassed by someone who sends me anonymous emails through a Japan based email service. This company wont give me any information on their users. However, I think I know the IP address of the person who is sending it. How do I find out the name, address, etc. that belongs with this IP address?? The number is 207.115.57.79 if anyone feels like a detective. Thanks a bunch everybody!

Hit the 'Spam' button and get on with your life. Don't give the creep the satisfaction of knowing it bugs you.

You cannot find out the users name, but the info that is available is below.
If you are truly being harassed, get your local police to do a report. Eventually you may end up going to court on this to subpoena the records to find out who the person is, so that you can press charges. Fun huh? NOT
Also, it looks like the last hop that I can get a geographic location from my tracert is Granada Hills CA.

You could also consider changing your eaddress or blocking sender/marking mail as spam as other options. I dont know how to trace IP address. Maybe some govt. or private investigative site?

Report it to the police.

Unless the sender has made special arrangements to have static IP address it will change so is useless for tracking him/her down.

Report it to your ISP. That's what they're there for.
