The chest is one of the places men store their fat. If your chest is muscular enough, any fat is stretched out over the muscles, so it looks like you just have bigger pecs.

(one of the standard sites for skinfold fat measurement is the side of the pec muscle)

The rest of your upper torso also helps. If you build up your Lat and Teres muscles ('wings') and the muscles across your back (Rhomboid & Lower Trapezius), the extra bulk will stretch out your fatty ('adipose') deposits even more.

There is a standard myth that says you can't remove fat from specific body areas by exercising them (because the fuel is taken from the general blood circulation, not from stores near the exercised muscle). In fact, this is rubbish.

Exercising your chest (using pressups, bench flyes, bench presses & cable crossovers) will generate heat locally. Your chest will turn pink, because there's more blood circulating in the skin there, in order to get rid of the heat. Because you've moved more of your blood into your man-boobs, more of the fat that you've stored there is available (via your bloodstream) as fuel.

If you repeatedly exercise your chest hard enough to make it pink, more permanent capillaries (small blood vessels) will be created in the skin there, so that even more of the fat in your man-boobs can be extracted to power the exercises.

To get the best results, you need to do some whole-body exercises, like Swimming, Aerobic Rowing or Cardio Weight Sets, about twice a week. Once you've settled into this routine, you need to include some of the heavier work to target your chest. You should also do some heavy work for your wings & back (Pullups, Pulldowns, Bench Rowing, Reverse Flyes). DON'T work too heavy, too soon. Eventually, increase your workout frequency to every other day.

Learning to swim Butterfly will also help, because it will keep all these muscles long and exercise your shoulders too (bulk doesn't have to make you stiff).

As you get used to the heavy work, you should start to do some back, chest and shoulder work every day (morning execises to limber up for the day) and do stretches before you go to bed.

As you do more of the daily work, you can increase the rest period between heavy workouts, as well as the weights you are using. Overtraining (too much or too often, or both) is counterproductive. Get into the work gradually, and do a bit less than you think you need. Increase the work a bit less than you want to, as well.

Be patient. Think in terms of months and years, not days and weeks. If you do the right level of work, you'll notice a slow increase in your strength, and subtle postural changes. Your bodyfat will not change visibly, until suddenly you'll notice that the manboobs look like chest muscle !

Tighten the muscles by exercise. Do push ups, and try some gym machines that tighten the chest /pectoral muscles.
Normally, this condition is due to a slight hormonal imbalance. If things dont work out for you through exercise, see a specialist who can give you medication to correct your situation.
Good luck

While cardio burns the fats and weight training builds chest muscles, you can never remove man boobs by sheer exercise alone. You need cosmetic surgery. Ask your local cosmetic surgeon for details.

push-ups are good to do for toning up the chest, so i would do them everynight. not just like 20 of them and calling it a night, do at least 50 or 60 (preferably at least 100). but to burn the fat you would need to do some aerobic excercises, at least walking a couple miles. diet is also big. that is a genetic mishap and it sucks but you can work through it and turn the fat to pecs!

drinking alcohol too much can cause this as it stops the liver expelling the female hormone oestrogen . Arms folded to neck level fingertips touching, hands flat under chin, then flick your arms horizomtally backwards, when you reach as far as you can push back twice.Repeat 20 times
