If you are a devoted couple, you stay together. I know everyone else is saying 'don't be too protective, give him space' yeah, do that - you can trust him, fine. That isn't the problem; the problem is you're a couple. I wouldn't say to my bloke 'see ya, meet you back home later' - we do things together. I think it is psychological -do you see yourselves as companionable and together? If not, then would you have children and a house together? I hope you can see what I mean. What's the point of setting yourself up in a relationship and all the stress and hard work that goes with it, if he feels he is separate from you?

It just seems like he didn't want to go home at that point - I am sure you have felt the same before in other situations when you are having a great time and you aren't ready to go. As with the previous answer, you went out separately so I am not sure why you are so frsutrated with him about this. He came home to you which is the most important thing!!!

Speaking as a bloke, You can do a lot in an hour!! Seriously though, sometimes its just a control thing; by coming home with you he may think people will see him as "under the thumb" already, by staying out, he is sending out the message, " I may be with some one, but Im still the man and Im in control"
Hope this helps

It's all about space!! It's a man thing! He went out without you, therefore he sees his night about being with his friends, not you. Yes, it's very stubborn and childish but he can say the next day to his friends "Hey, great night out with the boys last night.....!!!!" If he had come home with you, it would have put a dampener on the night!!!

Nothing wrong with that. Maybe he just wants to stay out later as he's having a good time with his mates.
I would cherish the extra hour to myself anyway

jeez he's not chained to you...he was only an hour late...whats the panic...start worrying when he does not come home at all..then you'll have something to whinge about..he didn't want to go home yet..he was prolly enjoying himself...he does have a life luv, just coz he lives with you don't mean that he has to be home at the exact same time as you....

Probably because his mates would take the p*** if he went home with you when the rest of them were staying out - it's just a pride thing!

So really you just dont want him out if your not out then is it?? You are his girlfriend not his mother what does it matter if he stays out an hour later, especially if you live together, you are together all the time!!!

My guys used to do that as well and I could never understand it. But I think its coz he wants to be stubborn coz he is a man.. just let him be, and one day he will accept, and then dont make a big fuss..

I think your making a bigger deal than this is, just leave him for abit and if he does it again, show him your not bothered and go out and stay out later than him anyway!
