I think that Communism, as it's popularly thought of, is absolutely dead on arrival. Being a Communist today is like raising your hand and saying "I'm a big idiot."
Economic Communism is a disaster because central planning is inefficient. And of course there's always the free rider problem.
In practice, most communist countries end up becoming culturally insular and weird, slightly self-destructive, autocratic, economic basket cases. Look at China - the only thing they got going for them is low wages 'cause of 60 years of completely ***-backwards leadership. North Korea's even worse - what a shithole.
They only thing interesting about Marxism is that he stated that truth is historical - that is, it changes over time. A lot of academicians appreciate this idea because technology (the "modes of production" Marx liked to talk about) is an important part of establishing the "truths" that form the basis of values and culture in a society.
So, it's good for the ivory tower, but you really don't want it escaping the lab and getting out into the wild.

The Philippine government can wage war against all the terrorists groups but will never succeed in eliminating them.
As long as corruption, injustice and unfair/unequal opportunities for Filipinos to have a better life (financially) are in existence, these terror groups will continue to flourish even if in small doses.
What is unfortunate is that the Philippine government and terror groups are but puppets in the master plan of some unprincipled American politicians and businessmen who only care about their interests and the profit they can earn from it.
Bottomline: The Philippines has been screwed again.
Sad but true.

Disagree. Communism enslaves people. It takes their money, determines whether get medical care, tells people what to do in all aspects of life, and forbids any religion except Communist religion. Communism is failed economic system dooming all but elite to poverty. In Capitalist society anyone can make as much money as they are able. In Communism the means of production belongs to the State.
See N. Korea, Russia, & Cuba.
Communism is alive and well in USA colleges. 90% of professors teach communism (no matter what their subject is - See "Frontline magagine") Many students graduate college believing in Communist phylosophy and agenda.

take a inspect how many supposedly American, eu and eastern agencies are making an investment heavily in that area. The multi-nationals have not got any loyalty to any u . s . a ., they are responsible purely to their shareholders. take a inspect your guy or woman Bush kin, they have been between the 1st to start merchandising boom in China in simple terms after WW2. Now they aren`t going to starve on the streets are they ? they're going to assume you and that i to combat for their wealth too, while interestingly like another canny bugger is going to take it from them. It has no longer something to do with capitalism or communism, or any political label, in simple terms greed and how our very rich controllers can grow to be lots richer controllers. And...it is not in simple terms your economic gadget over there this is suffering, that's the economies of the outdated international and Japan too.

Well, there's only one communist country left and North Korea is more to be pitied than anything else. The PRC seems to be doing very nicely with the free-market system, and supposedly socialist Cuba's economy is dependent on foreign tourist's cash. In any case word is Raoul plans to reform Cuba on the Chinese model, and then use the cash to keep the army happy.

War against terrorists with a irrational ideology that declares death/destruction to those who refuse to embrace their rule...
Communism has failed everywhere it has been tried...--> the populace finally realizes that it is a ideology that really only produces benefits for the party elite...the masses suffer equally.
War always results when one group refuses to accept another's rule or ideology. History has recorded numerous bloody messes with one constant..there is always the victorious and the loser .

Communism is just a form of government. There's the democratic type leadership and the communist. in communism everything is owned, controlled and planned by the government. And it promises everyone equal rights. i don't see anything wrong in that. But in the American type government, the rich just get richer and the poor just get poorer. So communism isn't all that bad if it promises equal opportunities to all of it's citizens.
