Actually, it's 1-5 now. They got beat by Dallas.
My first reason for the Suns falling behind is that teams have been keeping up with the in terms of their run-and-gun game. Everybody's playing small ball right now, maybe except for the Blazers who still wait for Randolph. Atlanta signed Speedy Claxton to keep up(as the name suggests), Toronto now has Ford, and everybody's playing D-Antoni's system.
I also saw this on NBA.com.. Suns are not doing well in crunchtime. Remember, they blew their lead to the Spurs in the last 5 minutes of the game and it went to overtime. By overtime they lost all their rhythm. This also happened in the Dallas game.
Defense is also a problem. Marion cant block by himself and Diaw is really out of shape(I want the skinny Diaw back). Raja Bell does a pretty good job though, but if they want to keep up with bigs like Duncan and Brand, they need to learn to play big man D. Stoudemire couldn't play this because he will foul trouble and this will limit his offensive playing time, which he excels so well.
Anyway, I think their lineup looks strong. Barbosa and Banks have fit well, and I never knew Kurt Thomas had a sweet J. I know D-Antoni will figure this out and hopefully get his team back as they once were.

Basically they are having a difficult time adjusting to their "new lineup," their third major change in three years. Back in 2004, when the Suns signed Steve Nash, their starting five had Nash at point, Joe Johnson at the two, Quintin Richardson at the three, Shawn Marion at the power forward slot, and Amare Stoudemire at center.
The following year, Amare got hurt, Joe Johnson signed a $70 million dollar deal that sent him to the Atlanta Hawks for Boris Diaw, and Quintin Richardson was sent packing to the New York Knicks for center Kurt Thomas. The Suns also signed shooting guard Raja Bell and later on in the season, forward Tim Thomas. This was basically a new team that produced a similar result--a spot at the western conference finals.
This year however, the Suns are having difficulty adjusting to a still injured, $73 million dollar investment in Amare Stoudemire coming back as well as the team finally playing with established big men like Stoudemire and Kurt Thomas (who hardly played last year due to a leg stress fracture).

1) Raja Bell not 100%
2) Boris Diaw not 100%
3) Amare not 100%
4) They hired Jalen Rose (he wasnt good enough for the Raptors or the Knicks why should he be good enoug for the Suns?)

i think its just the schedule. when the schedule is less packed, they will do better. also the new players are just trying to fit in and the stars are having a break. if they had the stars playing 39+ mins a game, then they would win more. but thats just messed, having the best players playing huge mins while the new or less talented get none.

Actually they are scoring plenty of points. It's simple, Amare hasn't worked his way back into playing big minutes yet. He's coming off of microfracture surgery so it's going to take him some time to get back into game playing shape.

Actually, they deserve that... you know for me, steve nash shoudn't be the MVP last year because, maybe he have 11 assist per game, but it really doesn't matter for me... for me.... I think that Dirk Nowitzki is the Real MVP. Why? because he carry the mavericks up to 1st NBA FINALS TRIP in FRANCHISE HISTORY... Right...

They are not scoring enough points, and allowing to many to be scored by their opponents.
