Me, wrinkles are minimal. I have never ironed bed sheets and I find it ridiculous that anyone does. Does anyone really do this?!
Before the invention of washers and dryers it was necessary to iron because wringer washers were used and linen was hung outside on the clothes line to dry and the sheets turned out very wrinkled. In todays world of washers and dryers and improved fabrics it is a thing of the past.

Yes, a total waste of time. But there's nothing like getting into a bed with freshly ironed cotton sheets!
Which is why I don't buy them!

Well I think so. Complete waste of time. But If you have nothing else to do at home and are a well boring person then I guess it's a good way of passing time.
But completely useless to me. I never even thought of ironing them to tell you the truth and never believe people would..
But then I never new that some people iron their socks too..

This reminds me of a story of a few years ago. Great Auntie had just got out of hospital. Gram (sister in law) offered to help round the house. She didn't mind ironing, but when faced with an assortment of things that would never be seen she responded:
"Look, I don't iron bedsheets, and I don't iron Charlie's (Granddad's) nor my knickers, I will certainly WILL NOT iron Chester's (Uncle's/brothers) worn out ones!"
The entire family had a good laugh as that story made the rounds.
So, from Gram to you: it is a bloody horrid waste of time!

Oh I just love ironing sheets, it's what I live for - on those long winter evenings ... a mug of coco ... a black and white film ... and lovely ironing - sheets, socks under pants - I love ironing them all ... NOT!!!!!!!!!!
I hate ironing!!! AHHHH I've got four kids and have to have the washing machine on every day so imagine the amount of ironing that generates - so I keep it to a minimum and sheets are definately OUT!!!

You would have to really really really love ironing to iron a sheet.. They smooth out quite nicely when put on a bed without ironing. m

I HATE ironing. BUT...I really like the crispy feeling of fresh, clean, ironed bedclothes. There's nothing quite like having a nice warm bath(lots of bubbles) and then being first to slide into a newly made bed, all crisp and neat.
And best of all there's something really satisfying about thoroughly messing them up when hubby gets in....(nuff said)..

you have brought back memories, in manchester in the fifties.
where i grew up, no hot water and outside toilets when it came to having a wash we just used to wash where you could see, with the old spit iron if you iron a shirt you just ironed the front bit and put a jacket on, so i say to you do old manchester style and just iron the top part that shows, incase you get company,

Definitely, there's so much of them by the time you get to the end the first bits creased again anyway.
My mates husband insists that the bed clothes are ironed and guess what, he has to do it himself!
