Ok, what should I save up for...(out of the ones listed)

- Mike Dirnt Signature Bass
- Fender Standard P-Bass (Mexican I think it is)
- Fender American P-Bass
- Fender Deluxe P-Bass
- Flea Modulus FB4 Bass

I would like your opinion of the pros and cons of this. Please do not direct me to www.musiciansfriend.com or www.guitarcenter.com as I have already been there It would be good if you had experience with one of the basses. I'm also looking for a good description of the weight + sound (e.g. punchy, low etc.)

I'm currently using a Legend (unknown brand) Bass, which looks exactly like a Fender Standard P-Bass. I'm not sure if the standard sounds better through the exact same amp though :S

I play two differnt models...VERY different

1 Fender Jazz Bass Deluxe 1966

2 LTD ESP B-240 active

both through an Ampeg BA-100

I have owned the J Bass since new so I guess it's my favorite. It has a nice string buzz and gets that funky little click when you pluck the strings, great lows and high register is crystal clear and really aggressive sounding.

The LTD is active and so customizable in it's sound. Really love it but it's very neck heavy and makes my shoulder hurt like crazy after a few hours.

Used to play a P Bass, basically it's about the same feel as the J Bass, sound is a little different in the high register but has nice lows. Keep in mind that even if you buy a less expensive bass, if you know someone locally working in a music shop, they will probably work the neck for you very cheap. Bought a Mexican Strat and had the neck done and it plays great.

Hope I was of help. :)

enable the tool chosen you !!!! specific, the bass is greater user-friendly to check to play through fact you're merely enjoying a single string word extremely than chords on a guitar.yet getting to understand the thank you to place all those notes mutually to play runs, grooves & walking bass takes it sluggish. To me the bass is a calling extremely than a call.you're able to a have a love for the groove, the feel & good timming, the entire music is anchored with the help of you & the drummer.you at the instant are not the celebrity of the instruct.i'm not asserting you are able to not be a nasty-*** participant that could pull off some staggering riffs & shop up with the lead guitar, yet retaining down the backside is you important job. i've got been enjoying bass for 30yrs,I play in community bands(that is jusy my interest/interest) & i will stay as busy as i want, through fact not all and sundry desires to play bass.i'm in basic terms an excellent participant that is conscious the place to place my little fill-in's, yet i'm an excellent rock on the groove. look there is not something incorrect with desirous to play guitar (lead or rhythmn)yet there are various those that play guitar merely through fact they like the attention. in case you finally end up interested in the bass in songs(I recommend real music, not rap bass junk) then the bass may well be for you.

Forget about all of this signature ****, and fender ****. If you want a good bass buy an Ibanez. For about $350 you can get an aweosme one. Ibanez is the best guitar company. I dont care what anyone says, Ibanez beats EVERYONE. Every single one of their products is excellent. They never get bad reviews. I own many Ibanez guitars and basses, and they are all excellent. Most of which I paid under $450 for. Please go with Ibanez, you can't go wrong, they are prefect.
