they are so ridiculously stupid and disgusting. My friend saw (no pun intended) the 3rd movie and when she finished her popcorn, she threw it right back up it was that gross!!!! I'm sorry but honestly, who here thinks that they should keep making the saw movies?? HOW CAN ANYONE FIND CHOPPING OF LIMBS AND KILLING PEOPLE IN GREUSOME WAYS IS A GOOD IDEA FOR A MOVIE?!?!?

IM GONNA MAKE A FEW THINGS CLEAR.
1. NO I AM NOT GONNA SEE IT
2. IT IS JUST MY OPINION
3. I LOVE HORROR MOVIES JUST NOT THIS ONE
4. WHY WOULD A MOVIE ABOUT HUMAN MINDS AND PHYSICS HAVE A RATING WITH STRONG HORROR VIOLENCE AND BLOOD AND GORE????????

I disagree with you. The reason I, and the majority of people who are contributing to the creation of more Saw movies, enjoy the movies is because they are intellectual mind-games movies. It isn't you typical crazy guy w/ a mask and a machete chopping you up, etc. etc. These movies are just so crazy and out there, that you get hooked by the story line in an appalling, but I can't really stop watching kind of way. The whole premise and the way the movies play out are just crazy, and that's why they are great to watch, and why they keep making more. If it disturbs you that much, just don't willingly drive yourself to a theater, pay your hard earned money, and spend 2 hrs of your precious time watching a movie that no one is forcing you to go see.

I have not watched any of them and I don't have any plans to anytime soon.
As to why people like them, America has become so jaded over the years that absolutely nothing shocks them anymore. It used to be that movies left everything to the imagination, especially films for older audiences. Now nothing is left to the imagination. Thus folks have lost all sensitivity to violence, sex, language, etc. So some filmmakers have come to the conclusion that since nothing is taboo anymore and anything less isn't shocking or scary enough, then they feel the need to go over the top with gore and violence and whatnot. People can complain all the want, but they also have to realize that when they go to movies, they're lining the filmmakers' pockets everytime. So the argument is a moot point.

The Saw movies provide an elequent peek into the human psyche. Of course the brutal and bloody killings are excruciating to watch, but it is the brilliantly crafted storyline that draws audiences in. The appeal of the three films is that they shows us something about humanity and perhaps the lack there of in today's world. It shows how fragile the human mind is and how by our very nature we are driven to survive at all costs. If you can see past the gore, you will be very moved by the frailty of the human spirit as it grasps for a future. There are many lessons to be learnt from these films - the cruelty of man as well as the value of life.

It's all a matter of taste. I happen to love gory movies. In my opinion, that's just one of the factors that makes a horror flick a true horror flick. I think chick flicks suck extremely hard and it's difficult for me to understand how anyone could like those but again it all comes down to people liking different things.

Nobody is asking you to go and see it. Others like me like that kind of thing. To be scared, it's fun. You continue to watch your G rated movies and be happy. A lot of movie goers find it entertaining. It was an excellent idea. That's why Saw IV is coming out in October 2007. Check their weekly box office ticket sells.

Its all about the money the movies make. Remember Hollywood made 6 Police Academy movies. They made 3 Porky's movies....etc
and the list goes on........

I would have to agree with you. I hate scary movies alltogether. Especially the movies that are scary and gruesome. It is such a waste of money. An absolute empty meaning of why would you make such a movie.

It means that the people responsible for them have run out of original ideas, so they keep making sequels. So as long as the moviegoing public go to see them, they'll kee on making these cruddy things.
