I'm 60 & I find I think about what I've done with my life more than I used to. I am not happy with how I've lived it. I will give you a few examples: 1) I stayed in a job I hated for the last 15 yrs of my career because security & the money I was making was more important to me than happiness or contentment. Not only was my work environment hell but I was too emotionally drained to live my life; I merely existed.
2) I never planned for my retirement. Never saved money. Lived from payday to payday. So I was always stressed out over the everyday things that pop up, e.g. car trouble, a root canal, medical emergency, etc. And that was when I was working!
3) I believed I should have married when I had the opportunity to do so. As one gets older, companionship becomes more important. Sharing a life with someone who is compatible, loving & kind can only enhance your own.
I have other examples but basically it boils down to a life without self-discipline, living on a day-to-day basis and not planning for future needs and retirement.
So listen up, those of you who are still young or those of you who are past youth - don't allow your life to become mired for lack of planning.
But I am still lucky in some ways. I am easily satisfied with reading, needlework, volunteering, friends to lunch with. I enjoy a quiet life. If you don't, start saving!

My stuff did not go as I planned partly because I never planned much but also the war in Bosnia was a bit of an unexpected turn. But I am so entirely happy with where/who/how I am. The reason may be that I never planned too much and sort of went with the flow, switching careers, swapping spouses, changing bands, learning new stuff all along. Basically, don't put all your eggs in one basket. Better yet, carry no eggs at all - you'll find some along the way, when you need them.

nope.
it faltered freshman year in college when I got so distracted I did not focus on studying.
it faltered in HS where I was so caught up on being on the honor roll that I forgot school is about learning and not showing off how smart/gifted I was.
I am faltering now by again, procrastinating, wastig time and getting fat.
simply put Im not taking very good care of myself, asking enough deep questions and wasting time!!!
this site sux for that.....

Life wouldnt be as what you exactly planned for it to be. Problems, pains, hurts and struggles are just spices of life that must happen to keep you going and make you new for each day. I suggest, you must be contented of everything you've got, appreciate your own ways and your works. Believe that they are best because you made them. Appreciate yourself for what you are. Learn to love the entire you first before you will experience real HAPPINESS. She is like that..he is like that...They are like that and YOU are like that because each of us are born unique. Feel free to be yourself and don't try to be just like another then HAPPINESS will bloom in your life.
I hope somehow what I've shared could help. God bless you! May you experience real happiness....

Not really. I always kinda feel that theres something more,
something bigger out there waiting for me to find it, to change it or to realize it. I always think that theres gota be something better than 'this'. I'll costantly end up looking nonstop for that something. I dont know, maybe just me.
