this is my error message when i plug my usb storage device into my notebook, shld i install any driver for that? I am using ACER TravelMate 4150.

She actually has it backwards.
your Acer is fairly new with Win XP Pro, and 4 USB 2.0 ports -- correct?
Its the device that is USB 1.1
Now only in the remote possibility that theres some sort of firmware upgrade for your device -- I think youre stuck with the 1.1
But you dont need to upgrade your ports..theyre already where they should be.
Id search for the specs of your storage. Chances are if you cant find out what USB speed they are -- then theyre USB 1.1.

Sounds like the device is usb 2.0 and the port is usb 1.0.
Try adding new ports.
