Hi there,

The problem you describe isn't going to be fixed by a pop-up blocker, as they are being called by adware already on your computer (therefore they are treated as safe and bypass your pop-up blocker).

depends on the site you're visiting. some sites have scripts that force popups to come out like friendster. try updating your virus definitions and try rescanning your PC. or try downloading XoftSpy to check for any resident malware.

i've already had experience with SpyBot and AVG. SpyBot removes quite a number of malware, but not all. you may combine this with XoftSpy to for a more thorough malware search. AVG works with some trojans, but is best combined with Norton for a more thorough scan.

If you are using internet explorer, go to Tools>Pop-up Blocker>Pop-up Blocker settings and change the filter level to high. You can override blocked pop ups by pressing CTRL.

Or use a third party pop-up blocker like Smart Popup Blocker (free)
