You want the truth they wont go but they should go. The Big East takes a lot of crap about being a bad conference, and having a soft schedule yet I dont hear a lot of talk about SEC teams and their non conference schedule which is pathetic. Dont hear anything about Texas playing N. Texas and Sam Houston State do you? No why because they have a name, doesnt matter that they havent proved anything yet either but fro some reason people think thye are better. I say if the SEC teams were not scared to play the Big East they would, and if you think the SEC wants to play the top teams from the Big East you need to look at Louisville and what they have to do to schedule a team from the SEC. Kentucky even tried to get out of playing Louisville but the Governor of the state told them they had to. The SEC will continue to schedule teams like La. Monroe because when they step up and out of conference they usually get smacked down. One exception this year is the Vols over Cal.

The beauty of the Rutgers victory is that it has made the "experts" look pretty foolish. It also proves that the BCS system has about 10,000 holes in it!! Of course a lot of things have to happen. First of all every other team connected with the BCS would have to lose at least one game. Second, Rutgers still has to win the remainder of their games. (very doable!!) Let's say at the end of the season the only division 1-A teams that remain undefeated are Ohio State and Rutgers. The question will be do the BCS committee match the two teams in a national championship game? My feeling is that it won't happen. If Ohio State and Michigan play a very close game and either one wins, it will be very possible that the committee would rematch the two teams for the national championship. If either Ohio State or Michigan end up blowing the other out, Florida or one of those "one lost" teams will probably get a shot at the national championship. Rutgers chances are slim at best because of their BCS ranking. It's just not high enough. Personally I'd love to see Rutgers get a shot, after all that's what college football is supposed to be all about. The little guy getting the chance of a lifetime.

No. Listen... I like Rutgers just as much as the good people of Patterson, Brick City or New Brunswick ever did... Hell I like college football period and I was on the Rutgers ban wagon 2 years ago before they even started to put it together. But there's no way they'll play for the national title and they shouldn't.
They would have to jump over the likes of teams like Florida, Auburn, USC, LSU, Arkansas, Notre Dame, Michigan, Tennessee and so on... they play a very soft Big East schedule and if you were to put them in the SEC or the Big Ten they would be about 5-4 or 6-3 at best right about now. And to be perfectly honest.... I would put Boise State in the title game before I put in Rutgers (not really but I'm just saying). I take my hat off to them for beating Louisville, but that's not enough, besides they have a trip to Morgantown still left on the table and the Mountaineers are waiting on em'.

Nope, no chance. No sports writer or coach views Rutgers as a top 10 football program. Sure they beat Louisville, but they've played a lot of below average programs and only won by a small margin. Sorry Rutgers hopefuls, but they have NO SHOT of sniffing the Top 5 of the BCS. Plus, they're going to lose at W. VA next week, so it's a moot point anyway.

We need a college championship playoff....BCS is fine and dandy, if you don't mind telling an undefeated team that they can't be champions! Certain divisions in the NFL are weaker than others, but they all have the same chance of winning a championship. The same should be true for college football. This BCS crap should be modified to fit a playoff format at the end of the season. It's only fair I think. Oh yeah.....Rutgers should be given the chance to prove themselves.

I like Rutgers but I would have to say NO. Because the teams Rutgers play are not as difficult as the teams USC or Notre Dame has to play. If USC wins all their games, they will be the best 1 loss team to contend for the BCS title game against Ohio State. Rutgers will lose to West Virginia on Dec. 2 and I am very sure.

they should
but probably won't
any undefeated team should be given a shot at the championship
nobody considers the fact that there is nothing the players can do about who they play. and there is nothing that they can do about how good thier conferece is. but it is them who play the game and all you can ask of them is to go win the game dispite who ever they may play or not
and the rutgers players have done that
there is still no proof that any other team that any other team is better than them
we assume (through our pesonal biases) but the championship is only one game and and any thing can happen

YES, why should Louisville or WVU have been allowed to but Rutgers, who would still have to beat WVU in Morgantown, now be allowed to. Don't give me this crap about how the Big East isn't tough enough with those one loss teams being in tougher divisions. Rutgers went to Pitt and beat them on Heinz Field on Pitt's Homecoming. They beat Louisville who was pretty much in the National Championship if they beat Rutgers. All they had to do was win out the rest and with WVU and Rutgers out of the way it would be thought they could. Rutgers though would have to beat WVU at their field and they had to beat Pitt at their field when Pitt was doing good.

No, I don't think they should.
Just because a team is undefeated,
doesn't mean they're necessarily
better than a 1-loss team.. which there
are a lot of in this season so far.
For some reason, I'm just not impressed
by the Scarlet Knights.

Not if both Ohio State and Michigan are undefeated. They both play a much harder schedule than Rutgers does. But if one falls then RU should be there.
