I have lost people I love....my father and then my brother died one year one month later...was very hard on all of us especially my mom...as my brother had taken over my dads spot in helping with my mom...we are only women left in the family now..I don't know whether the stress of my dads death caused my brother to die young but he really missed my dad...and oddly he had held a memorial for my dad on the first anniversary of his death..he said at that time " everyone needs to come to this./...its important..." we didn't know at the time how important it was...it was the last time we would all be together....so try not to grieve too much for the past...but live life to the fullest Right now...because you never know when it is the last time you will be with the people you love.

My father when I was only 6, 3 good friends to suicide as a teen, another friend to murder, (at the hands of his older brother!) my grandmother when I was 14, my adopted grandfather when I was 12, dozens of loved cousins, aunts, uncles and my mother when I was 32. No matter how often you experience the death of a loved one, it never gets easier, only time can heal the wound and leave you with your good memories.

My mom and I were extremely close, she passed last year. The grieving process is just that... a process. But I know she's still with me in spirit.
