Yes this is actually true, one night I was screwing around with my CD with Stairway to Heaven, I had my mic and sound recorder on so recored the part of which was rumored, played it back and I got really creeped out because it was 1 am and I was in the dark light was off, try it if you like.

I hope so. It sure would explain a lot.

I remember the old days - before we had home pcs and CDs. If you wanted to play a record backwards, dammit that's what you did. You unhooked the belt-drive and - with your finger on the label, kept it going backwards at 33 1/3 rpm. Nowadays it's sound-file this, and software that. Damn kids.

I didnt realise that.

The most unsuccessful 'backward message' album of all time was probably Rory Emerald and the Evil - Live.

It was financed by the League of Family Values and when you played the tracks backwards they said things like 'do your homework', 'clean your room', honour the flag' and 'vote Republican'.

well , if you read the lyrics forward... it seems they made that part of the song to fit the "satanic messages" i mean, if theres a bussle in your woodrow... or something like that... I mean, I think what they did was record the messages first, then played THEM backwards to find out what kind of forward message they could make with it. Hope that makes sense to you.

I read that Led Zeppelin spelled sideways spells "Deel Nipplez." How cool is THAT?

Ok.

Who next on your list:

Roy Orbison?
The Righteous Brothers?
Donny and Marie Osmond?
The Muppets?

Why not totally ban music?...you seem determined.

Jeesh.
