I was donating money to the people of Africa for their poverty and disease-stricken countries. This year, I changed my mind and decided not to.
When there are so many of the same types of people suffering right here in my country, why not focus on helping my own people first? Does that make me a bad person?

NO, I donot donate to other countries, im sure my tax dollars do some of that. I donate to local charities and I volunteer as well. I have never believed in giving to another country. WE need to be first, we havent been first and look at the decline of our country

No. It would only be despicable if you were very rich and spent it all on yourself! You're doing what you can afford, yet it makes me so mad that billionaires have huge mansions just SITTING there most of the year, while little kids freeze and go hungry on the streets! Rich people are often the cheapest, least compassionate, people like Cheney, Donald Trump and Oprah--SHE is a phony!)

There must be thousands of people who dont even donate to charity and your worried that you are now donating to people that live in your region of the world instead of someone who is living halfway accross it? Now if thats not a good person then I dont know what is.

No it does make you a bad person, you are donating money and helping others......so it doesnt matter what country you donate too...you are a good person for helping out!

You can't help everyone - it's ok to spread it around a little. At least you are trying to do something rather than spend it on another latte.

no it does not! anytime you give to another its aways good. besides the US helps out every country with billions and they =never help us, and to top it all off they dont even help there own countries as much as we help them with theres.

No, as long as you are helping someone, thats wat matters. You helped them and now yur helping yur country. But i understand how u are thinking, that if u help yur own, then u might think that u are being racist and not helping other countries. But helping is good no matter who it is that needs help. Its yur motives that matters.

Not at all. It's your money and you can distribute it any way you want to. Its how it makes you feel thats important.
