Molestation is abhorrent to civilization yet the media has almost free reign to influence all age groups. Of course phyical molestation is against the law but apparently mental molestation does not have the same gravity. How can one deny the influence of the media with billions of advertising dollars. I know "Where do you draw the line."

media is just a giant influence...

its the way you get your information...and you only get (1) perspective...

if you are so worried...then just get your information through the internet...and use the TV...for entertainment...

Being completely influenced or believing everything we see/read through the media is where a persons common sense should take over. Another way to put it is critical thinking. Advertisers count on the fact that a certain percentage of the population will respond favorably. The most recent example is the ad promoting a new "healthy" version of Kentucky Fried Chicken. There will be plenty of people who will flock to KFC; there are the rest of us who know that it is still a fast food. A person can "draw the line" simply by using their brain!

You do have access to the internet so why blame the media?

Every educated soul knows the media are far from molesting you, they are however using very powerful symbology and rude amounts of money to influence judgment. Why dont you compare the TV news with the many repsected and frankly better INTERNET CURRENT AFFAIRS and journalism sites like PBS, Prison planet david icke.com and a host of amazing internet radio designed for the people who dont want to just listen to one side of the story.

The only thing molesting your brain is your intelligence.
Give it some authority and stop blaming electronic signals flying through the air.

If you are influanced my the media and advertising then you are a lemming....use common sense to figure out right from wrong and read up on things to see what is going on. Look at all the money we pay to people in entertainment and sports, and you think the media is bad? Look at all the crooked people in government. Oh and stop watching TV and listening to the raido and reading newspapers and magazines and then you wont be apart of the media.
