there isn't anything you can do to deal with the loss of a sex drive while taking effexor... besides just dealing with it or changing medications. i have been on it for a few years now & i have found that sometimes it just takes so extra motivation from myself &/or my partner & then i do enjoy it. that is at least the problem i have had....

talk to your doctor about alternatives...

Talk to your doctor about changing medication or going off medication completely. Cognitive behavioural therapy has been proven to have the same effectiveness ratings on curing depression as SSRI medication but, without the wretched side effects of medications. If you are not already seeing a good psychologist who can guide you through CBT, you should try it.

The sexual side effects, right? I've found it matters when during the day you take your medicine. Take it after sex if you can. Before puts a fresh batch of serotonin reuptake inhibitors in your system, slows everything down.
