No. Sadaam's death has no relationship to peace, none what-so-ever.
Do a little reading of history of Iraq and one would come to this conclusion.
In fact, I cannot think of a country with Islam as religion with peace currently. One that comes close is the secular Islamic country, like Turkey.
Exception of country with long period of peace did exist. Take the Ottoman empire. That was several hundred of years ago.

No. The Sunni Muslims may step up their activities after the execution, but the Shia Muslims are in no mood to to stop their death squad activities. The Shite majority was repressed by torture and intimidation for 40 years, and they endured constant attacks since the U.S. invasion. The militias are stronger than the government's military forces, now, and they have no desire to work with their former oppressors. Out and out civil war and Sunni genocide will occur unless some miracle occurs in Iraq.

No, it will get real bad when his followers retaliate against the government there. But, justice must be served or the trial means nothing. He must pay for his crimes under the law. Although, I personally think that putting him in hole for thr rest of his life his a better way to go. He can not become a martyer if he is still alive. By killing him, under the religious law of Islam, he will become a figure bigger than life. Almost a god for some of these people.

I belive it won't. I belive It will take a long time and huge efforts among Iraqis the find a new way of 'Livin togeter' that suits everyone enough for violence to stop.
A federal state, largely decentralised, and wealth will also be necessary for peace.
