Do I have to bring my own earrings for them to put in or will they have some there already? How does it work with the needle?

Its a 50/50 on that. Some piercers will allow you to bring your own jewelry, but because it has to be cleaned they might charge you for it. Other piercers won't allow this at all. Keep in mind, if you are getting your ears pierced, jewelry is included in the cost of the piercing. Don't forget to tip as well.
I would suggest that you just take the jewelry they give you. It will be of high quality surgical stainless steel and will decrease risk for infection and poor healing. Also, you can rest assured the jewelry they give you will be clean and so will the proceedure.
For ears, the general process of it is they will mark a spot on each ear and you can either approve or disapprove of this spot. They will use clamps or work free hand and simply push the needle through and insert the jewelry. It won't hurt much and the piercing will take only seconds.
Whatever you do, do NOT get any piercings with a gun. The people above are wrong to say its less painful. The gun is cleaned with ALCOHOL which does not actually kill any diseases and germs. The posts are dull and tear the skin causing unneccessary pain and infections. The posts also not adjust well for swelling and can cause numerous issues.

They usually do it with an airgun. Its the best way and not painful. Its only painful for a quick second. If you get it with a needle it will be painful. Do the airgun. You usually buy the earrings there. You should have real earrings in so you dont get an infection. Most places will do it for free if you buy a set of earrings. Your first pair should also be stubs.

Some places will do it with a air gun and the earring is all ready attached and when they shoot your ear the earring automatic well make the whole and attached the earring.

yeah u have to bring one to avoid infection. it ****** hurts!!!
