No. My nephew decided to join to go there and signed up and he wanted to because he believes in the cause, so it is not like he was forced to go there. When someone signs up for the military, they know they are going to go fight, and they choose to serve. My other nephew his brother went ROTC and so he went through college, graduated, got his commission and is training troops now so he will be going over but he is still in the states. ( my nephews, sister and whole family are all Republican )
Why would their family or friends want to change to a party that does not support what they are doing??? The whole "we support the troops but not the war" thing that democrats say is only being is fake and we all know it and so do the troops.
I do not agree with the way the war has been carried out, but that is tactics, and a tactical disagreement, not a philosophical or moral one. I believe that Rumsfeld should have listened to the generals and gone in with a MUCH greater force from the get go and we would have been done by now, like we were in Desert Storm. That does not mean I disagree with the war or think we should pull out, I do not in either case.

I served and presently I haves an uncle and two cousins in Iraq now! My attitude has not changed and neither have theirs!! When we join the military, we do so knowing the possibility of war!! I have served my country proudly just as my relatives are doing. This is not about President Bush but more about doing our "job" and protecting America!!! Yes we are republicans but we are also Americans!!!

I don't have a loved one fighting in Iraq, but I've got to say that I've changed my opinion on Bush. First it was, Bush is getting the bad guys, we are going to beat the terrorists, and its all going to end happily ever after. Now its, invading iraq was not such a good idea at all. They had already tried a Democratic govt. three times and it failed every time, and more people are dying every day on both sides.

I used to be Republican and Bush's terrible policy changed that. Of course the Republicans and conservatives are now claiming that Bush doesn't represent Republican ideals, with his excessive spending, his mismanagement, etc, but if the Republicans' principles governed their actions, they would not have supported these policies they supposedly disagreed with.

Are you kidding?! Of caurse not! He is there behind our troops and rallys with them more than any other president ever has! Our loved ones went to war willingly and we are so proud of them! Don't you understand they wanted to go, to do their patriotic duty? No war is wanted, and a lot of times they don't make sense but you can be sure there will be another one after this one. There is always going to be wars!

Be glad they have a president who supports them. Hope they have a House who does the same. But most of all: BE PROUD - PRAY DAILY.

If soldiers don't go shoot the crazed Islamic fanatics then who would? ignoring a people that wants to kill your children will not make them convert to peace. why is this so hard of a concept for Rosie odental types?
