Someone had to take the heat for the Republican party losing control of the House and Senate and the fact that the country is sick of their policy towards the war in Iraq. As we all know Bush NEVER takes responsibility, so Rumsfeld was the next person on the chopping block. Personally, I say good riddens......too many good men and women have died in Iraq and now it is clear that Iraq had nothing to do with September 11.

Rumsfeld knew he was the cause of our problems in Iraq so he and the President did the honorable thing and put somone else in who will have a new perspective. Bush talked to the new appointee DAYS BEFORE the election, and did not use it as a November surprise.

Rumsfeld grew to become into fired by using fact he had misplaced admire of the militia. The Generals, the militia information papers, books approximately his loss of positioned up-invasion making plans all meant that he ought to no longer effectively lead the militia from now on. If he had stayed, it would have persisted to spiral down, thoroughly killing the Republicans' possibilities in 2008 (worse than what handed off on Tuesday).
