I like to have a pet fish. I already have an aquarium size about 50cm square and about 75cm ht. What accessories do I need? Can you suggest top 10 good fish I can choose to start with?

You must decide if you wish to raise fresh water fish or salt water fish. Fresh water fish do not have to have salt added to the tank in a ceratin quanity. All fish could benefit, as far as I've seen, from a little bit of salt. You do need a filter, and a bubbler, for air, and clean your tank once per week if possible. The easiest fish are Goldfish. They are in the carp family and believe me, can get quite large according to the tank size. I like the Fancy Gold Fish, and they are easy to care for. The only draw back is that they do excrete and put a lot of urine in the water. This is why you do need to make sure your tank is reasonably clean. When cleaning my tanks I always left about 1/3rd the amount of the old water in, as this helps keep a balance in the water atmosphere. Other wise it would be too much of a shock to the fish and they soon die. There are many interesting fish that cost a great deal of money. Ask the pet store how to care for the fish you buy and how much care they will take. Fish can be a wonderful hobby, but like all pets, they take effort. Make sure you have a temp gage as some fish need warmer water than others. Some need a heated tank, as well. I've raised Goldfish, Plocostomis, Guppies, Angel fish, Shark fish, and many others. Some can share a tank but other cannot share, but only with the same kind of fish.Good luck.

If you have a self contained tank (pump water filters) then you should condition your tank with feeder goldfish. They will get your tank ready. There are several types of water you will have to maintain for certain fish, Tropical Freshwater fish must have clean conditioned water, salt walter is a little harder to set up but maintains itself moreas time goes on where as freshwater has to be cleaned OFTEN.

If you just want feeder fish (small everyday goldfish) you can get quite a few cheap and they can live a couple weeks or as my brothers did, several years.

Find a qualified fish store in your area and don't try to do too much at once. Fish tank set up can be very expensive, so do your research. You can always buy fish tank set up books to find out more.
Good Luck

I have no clue how many litres/gallons your tank is. Here's a chart, take better measurements, and look and compare for your actual tank size.

Need more info on the tank size before recommending fish, don't want to tell you to add 10 mollies and such, and find out the tank is only 38 litres/10 gallons.

You're going to need a good filter, whatever kind of substrate you want for the bottom(if you want any) gravel, sand. Any decorations-rocks, plants, hidey holes you want/fish needs. Here's some more links, do a search for starting a fish tank, caring for a fish tank, and cycling a fish tank.

This is a good fish profile site, gives their minimum tank requirements, and all the other care for them and compatibility with other fish.

Most important thing is to have a dechlorinator for the water, or any fish you buy will die in seconds (especially if you EBMUD water). I'd start with goldfish feeders which are really inexpensive and then gradually get more expensive freshwater fish
