Why people usually look for a date or a chance to get a date by participating on YA or 360? I am just wondering

A lot of people on here have found their soul mate though yahoo.I found my partner over the phone.With yahoo it is a brilliant way of getting to know someone.Loads of single people are on here through boredom,so why not try and get a date with another singleton?

My friend uses dating sites & she says it's all the same people so maybe that's why people try it here. Seems kinda silly to me though.
