You can take a pregnancy test a week before your expected period. And here's why... a fertilized egg has to travel down the fallopian tube to get to the uterus and implant itself to the uterine lining. Once it implants, the fertilized egg starts to produce hCG, which is the hormone that pregnancy tests tries to detect. Implantation could take from 4 to 7 days. This means that if you take a pregnancy test too soon, it may show up negative. So, by testing 5 days before your expected period, this has already allowed time for implantation.
Good luck!

I would wait until you have at least missed your period. The pregnancy tests that state that you can test five days before your missed period can only detect the HCG hormone in 69% of women at five days before their missed period and i believe 72 % at 4 days before missed period and 84% at 3 days before missed period and 93% at 2 and 1 day(s) before missed period so i would say to save money just wait til you have missed your period. I hope this helps you out. GOOD LUCK

Wait until you miss your period and then go get a blood test at your doctor they are 100% accurate a few weeks after conception. Good luck.

You don't have to wait for your period, if you think that you probably conceived you can go with one of the First Response tests a few days before your period is due.
However, the longer you wait, the more chance there is of the test producing accurate results.
Good luck! :)

Don't wait till you miss your period. You could be preggers and still have your monthly cycle. Some women have it through the whole pregs. Many have it the first month or two. that is why some people don't know that they are preg until they are alittle farther along.

Advance Congratulations!!!
Just 5 minutes is enough to test pregency using card ( urine Sample).
You can detect pregency On the first day of missed period by using this Quick chek wave kit. This is very economical one also.

Generally most couples get pregnant within about a year of trying. Most pregnancy tests that one buys at the store are very accurate and can detect pregnancy 5 days after a missed period. I recommend 7 days, but that is just my preference. Good luck and relax. The less stressed you are about becoming pregnant, the more likely it will happen. (Easier said than done sometimes.)
