Our family is split. Four Democrats and Four Republicans. And one that flip flops. I don't hate them and they don't hate me, but some of them hate each other. My brothers have already got into a fight about politics and it almost came to blows. I guess it just boils down to we all think we are right. If I believe that abortion is murder my brother believes it's a woman's right to chose. I can't change his mind. If I say we should give businesses tax breaks because businesses use that money to create more jobs by buying more capital, then he says that businesses just pocket the money. How do you convince someone that doesn't want to see the truth? It makes me angry that Democrats can't see the big picture. But maybe they see it the other way around. i don't know. The hate is definitely there, but I don't see it coming mostly from the Republicans. It comes from an uneducated, self-loving, and disillusioned group of Democrats.

Unfortunately, there are people on both sides who hate the other party-there always has been and probably always will be. Let's be honest, if we couldn't hate each other over politics we would and do find another reason (religion,color,culture,money,sports...) It's up to the rest of us to distance ourselves from the small-minded practices (name-calling, blame placing, rhetoric spewing...) however much appeal they have to our lower natures and work together for solutions. I think our leaders employ these tactics far too often, especially using scare tactics to persuade one side that the whole country will go to hell tomorrow if the other side has any say.
Don't fall for it. Both sides have to share the credit and the blame as they have continuously shifted the balance of power these last few hundred years. The U.S. has the world's best political system-it forces us all to compromise and work together not allowing any one party or person unending power.

The Democrats will tell you no, as your first answerer did, but the venom they've been spewing says otherwise. They are still going on with the name calling and insults. Some people just can't help showing their class, or the lack thereof. I'm a Republican/Conservative from New York. If I hated Democrats (I am still mad at them for giving us Hillary... twice!) I would have a lot less friends!

Pretty much Republicans and Democrats don't like each other, Republicans are the opposite of the Democrats and the Democrats are the opposite of Republicans.
