Not at all.
It just affects your choice of jewelry. It's a generally bad idea to have it done with a gun in the first place, and thick ear lobes just make that bad idea worse...don't even consider having it done by some place that uses a gun.
Having a professional piercer do the piercing with a needle and using a suitable sized ring as the jewelry, there's no lobe too thick.

No. Despite how thick your lobes are, there is always a style and size of jewelry you will be able to wear. Ears aren't generally a picky area to pierce. If you want yours done, the best thing you should do is talk with a professional piercer and express your concerns. They will be able to give you appropirate jewelry and care for your piercings and you'll be fine.

Just never use a 'gun' to pierce your ears. The posts are too short, cannot be cleaned well and do not adjust well from ear to ear. Needles are best.

I've heard of people saying they had trouble with piercing guns because their lobes were so thick. But never with needle piercings, which are just better anyway.

No i don,t think so.I have pierced a lot of ears and some people do have thick ear lobes but you can usually always pierce them

I think you can pierce tham with laser, but real problem is if the stick things on the earring is long enough.
