The last letter of the dictionary IS the last letter in the dictionary.

1) You may mean Z as this is the last letter of the english alphabet in the dictionary.

2) You may mean Y as it is the last letter in 'the dictionary'.

3) You may mean another letter or a number if you are referring to the appendix of a dictionary (if there is one) or the barcode or something like that.

4) You may mean that the last letter of the dictionary IS the last letter of the dictionary because that is the only thing that the last letter can be.

It could also depend on what language the dictionary is written in... Some languages have more or less letters than the English Alphabet.

are you talking about the last letter in the word dictionary or the last word in the book dictionary ? the former is obvious. but the book itself ? there are an awful lot a dictionaries out there. one i have at over 2,500 pages lists 'zulu' and my smaller one 'zambuk' and they're both 'oxford'. in australia it's the 'macquarie' and i think u.s.a. uses 'websters' and they'd all be a bit different.

I live in Norway and we have 3 more characters than you guys do. Maybe that is why we talk so funny?

Anyway - our last letter is å, pronounced as 'oar'.

I have just looked in my English disctionary and the last word in there is Zulu. The last letter of Zulu is 'u'.

So U is also the last letter in the dictionary.

2 choices then - å or u.
