my breasts have been sore and tender for nearly 3 weeks now and my period is due in about 4 days .the sorness is more noticable when i wake up and more tender on the side that i have been sleeping on,is this just pmt or something else? i don't normally get sore breasts with period.

Registered Nurse here; Sounds hormonal, breast tenderness and soreness is a very common symptom of hormonal changes, with menstrual cycle. Although, these are common, it's significant in your case, because they are new symptoms for you. Therefore it's a indication that you should see your physician and have this evaluated. In all likely hood, it's hormonal and can be controlled easily with the assistance of your doctor. But, hun please see a Doctor since you haven't experienced these symptoms yourself in the past. breast tenderness is a common symptom women have with PMS, but 3 weeks worth, especially since it is not common for you, is not normal. It is most likely hormonal. Have you changed anything about your birth control method, or on any new type of medication?
It is also one of the first signs people experience with early pregnancy.....
