usually Xmas, as there should be so much joy in the world but all you see is sadness, with world poverty, wars. even closer at home you see stressed out parents and spoilt children. people have forgotten the spirit off Xmas and just remember the commerical.

winter is the time of the year that makes me feel the saddest. The days are shorter, the sun doesn't shine a lot, and you are almost stuck at home most of the time because of the cold days.

The winter time!
I read that its because of the lack of natural sunlight. Where I live the sun comes up around 8AM and goes down by 6PM..sad hu? Luckily for me I work out of my home office and have my desk right in front of the window and feel sorry for my old co-workers stuck inside a office with no direct windows.
It snows up here and I took up snowboarding a couple of years ago to help beat the blues and it worked. So I guess the combination of trying to get as much son as possible and taking advantage of the resorts open for night skiing help the time go by.

Valentine's Day. Even though this holiday is made to celebrate love between people.... the market industry (flowers, chocolate, etc.) give this holiday too much hype. There are constant commericals about Valentine's Day sales at jewelry stores, chocolate stores, etc. Thus making Valentine's day unavoidable for the single people out there (also for the people who had just broken up with their other half). So what I'm trying to say is that Valentine's Day makes the population who are single feel like ****.

The saddest time of year is definitely fall Because you realize how beautiful mother nature can be and how humans pale in comparison to this beauty.

A beautiful, windy fall day makes me the saddest - the colors of the leaves and the way they fall in the breeze are beautiful, but beauty can't last: when they are gone, everything looks so cold and dead.

The second heavy snowfall. The first one is almost welcomed but when that second big one hits, it's like Oh no, here it is again. Get the boots and heavy coats on and the gloves and the hat. Scrape the ice off the windshield while the car is heating up. Shoot, I got snow in my gloves! Dang it! I'm going to be late for work! Getting behind that slow asss car!

Late spring, because summer's coming and I hate it. Where I live now, summer is always miserable. My seasonal depression strikes punctually in April or May in the upper south and in June when I'm living in New England. It goes opposite to the usual seasonal affective disorder scenario, when people get depressed in autumn...I love this time of year.

i'd have to say by late august when you realize you can't go to the beach anymore and you're going to have to start wearing fall clothes again and have to start thinking about school/work. i also get sad in early january when all the christmas buzz is over, i feel a certain emptiness and just see another year that just went by and i think of all the things i never get to accomplish. just gets too sentimental.
