This seems like fake question...or just really sad.. but how the heck do you hug someone? how long should it last? How do I approach someone I care about with a hug... just go for it or what?

friend that is... like 20 years older... making it a bit odd

All you need to do is next time you two run into each other instead of just stopping and talking out stretch your arms, wrap them around the other persons back with a little not too tight squeeze and go for it. If they don't want to be hugged they'll take a step or two back away from you. The hug should be (because it's the first time and your unsure if they want really want it) short and sweet. Sometimes people will let you hug them to keep from hurting your feelings so next time you see them and want to hug try and read their body language. If they back or or become frigid you know that's not what they want.

Depends if your friends or you think romantically about the person.
Otherwise just go up to the person & give the person a hug if the person pulls away then back off or just say I thought you needed a hug can last a few minutes or longer. Good luck & go get a hug! :0)

Well when you think people need a hug and its people that wont tell you to back the heck off them, then just do it. Do it til you think its getting awkward. Just squeezr them softly. That is all a hug is, but it can mean alot.

yeah i have problems hugging peoplei care aobut also..i guess you jsut go for it and hold on for dear life for a few seconds say about 15

there is no set way ...... just hug .................it can and should last forever ...................... its not a job for which u have to approach it has to be spontaneous u feel like it u hug thts all
