As a joke once, I called a radio station and requested "Love Hurts" by Nazareth. I told him it was because I beat my girlfriend. He played the song and said it was because I beat my gf! I could not freakin' believe he did that!
PS I have never beat someone. And I would suggest dedicating whatever that person's favorite song is to them.

If you want to go old school there is an Elton John song called "Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word." It's a sweet song if you want to apologize. And, since you don't hear it on the radio, you won't get bummed out when it comes on!

It's an old song, of which I can only remember the first line. (and I think that line is the name of the song)

I don't know if the following line follows the first one, but it's defenitely a line in the song, it goes :
