Dropped means that the baby is first in the correct position to come out [head first, very good] and the she is dropped into the correct position for birth. Meaning her head is at the top of the cervix ready for delivery. 50% effaced is a very good sign of things to come. Pressure in your booty could mean, you are going to have back labor [ all I can say is epidural, or meditation to handle it, it sucks but it is bearable] or that you are having braxton hicks. Your body is getting ready to have a baby, similar to running a marathon, it is preparing and practicing.
My suggestion [I have a 7 month old] is breath. Relax, try to get some sleep [I couldn't sleep at all my last few weeks or days]. Clean or just take naps. Prepare food ahead of time soyou wont have to cook when you get home. But those complete meal boxes they help. Read books, watch t.v. stare at the baby stuff and cry because she is taking so long and you want her now. Talk to her about what is to come, the birth, the aftermath, the people, who will be there, how you think it all will go, and how you feel. Watch movies, get a lot of movies to watch [you will need something to do to keep your mind sane on the 4th feeding in an hour]. Stay calm and enjoy these last moments of you having your daughter all to yourself. When you go into labor YOU WILL KNOW.
I rember thinking that I wasn't going to know for sure, but I was wrong. Keep track of any apin count it out, outloud even as they come and go write down the time, call your doctor if they start coming regularly even if they are 9 minutes apart, just call. Eat as much as you can and drink anything you want before you go to the hospital becasue after that it is ice chips and water for you. Note the time though so the doctors will know.
Remember, if you feel al gush of water in between your legs, call your doctor and go to the maternity ward at your hospital, if you start discharging for more than an hour a clear sticky substance [not alot] call your doctor [thid happened to me my water was broken 2 days before I started contratctions and I didn't realize your water can break just a little]. She will come when she is ready. Good luck new momy.

At 37 weeks, obviously you're going to have the baby soon one way or the other.
Dropping is said (generally) to happen pretty close to labor in a first pregnancy. It is said to tend to happen earlier in later pregnancies.
Still, you can't always go by what "is said". My daughter was born at 37 weeks at the beginning of January dropped in October! I lived with that pressure you describe for months, and the doctor was always worried about my having her far too early.
My other child (Happy 25th Birthday to him today) was born at 34 weeks, and I had no warning and detected no dropping at all.
After walking around for months with that low-down, heavy, pressure you describe I know that the head's being in place doesn't necessarily mean the baby will be born within hours. At the same time, it is generally believed that dropping occurs a day or so before delivery of the first baby.
A funny sign is you may suddenly have a whole lot of energy one day, and you make clean the whole house and do a whole bunch of projects you may have been too tired to do. For me this energy blast came the day before labor.
There is the mucous plug that could show up in the toilet.
There is, of course, water breaking or leaking. You can get a little "spurt" of water and think the baby kicked your bladder, but then there's another one, and then the whole business cuts loose.
If you get a very mild crampy feeling it could be the very beginning. Low bachache or feeling like your lower back has been struck for a second could be a sign.
Other than the baby's dropping and that day-before energy-blast you could get there really aren't tell-tale signs before the beginning of labor starts. If you get something like mild cramping it may not mean you'll go into labor today or tonight, but it could mean tomorrow or tomorrow night it will start in earnest.
Wish I could come up with more useful information for you, but usually "tell-tale" signs pretty much mean labor is beginning.

Hi Tiffany o,
If your water breaks that a sure sign the baby will be coming get to th hospital as soon as possible or you may have baby anywhere. If you have sever pains & think you have to have a bowel movement another sign of labor time to go to the hospital. You didn't say if this was your first or not. I only had 4 hours labor with the 1st one, the other 3 came within a 1/2 hour after getting to the hospital. Good luck & congrats.

the thinning just means that your cervix is losing the lining, so your body can dailate. From experience, I was 80% thinned, and dialed to 2 from 7 weeks. If you feel like labor is possible, get checked out. better to be safe then sorry. Or call your local Labor and delivery center. the booty pain? I havent ever heard of that happening before. Are you sure its not your lower back? Maybe back labor pains? Good Luck its almost over. Hopefully soon. My last was 22 days late, knock on wood you arent stuck like that!!

If you feel extreme pressure you should go up to the Labor & delivery floor at your hospital, however if it is just a slight pressure that means you should go into labor soon.

Go. Accept it philosopically, and be happy if he used to be going to decide on any individual else, that it occurred earlier than WE had been married, than after. Maybe, he's going to do it to "her" down the avenue. If I might uncover a few particularly well watching man to be my date for the reception, even higher.

when contractions start or water breaks go to hospital, they will put you in triage and let you know whats going on.. sounds like it will be soon, although with my last baby i had no signs at all and my water broke while i was in bed sleeping after i had gone out with my family earlier and had NO SIGNS. Good luck!

Sounds to me like it could be anyday now. Dont expect that if your water breaks it will gush out, sometimes it just trickles, And your contractions will at first feel like period cramps that most often start in your back then move ari=ound to your lower tummy. Good luck sweetie.

you are considered term from 36 wks, anytime after that is when the baby can come. I had all the symptoms that my baby was "about to come" for about 2 weeks. For other pregnancy related issues I ended up being induced. You should contact your doctor if your water breaks or if you experience bloody show.

i dropped 4 weeks before i had my last one, if it's extreme pressure you're feeling then by all means go into the maternity ward and get checked, but otherwise it's a waiting game
