Still currently in High school, I need a job. Art being something I'm very strong in, I was hoping there exists jobs out there where I can employ my skills. I could go work at Blockbuster or Best Buy, but Drawing is something I'd rather utilize rather than sitting in a store all day dealing with nightmare customers complaining about how they want a refund because the movie blew.

Just a shot in the dark before I finally just suck it up and take it like every other teenager out there. Anyone have any ideas?

Get a job at Burger King or McD's--- you can draw happy faces with the ketchup, onions and pickles on the hamburgers!

Drawing or being an artist is a 1 in a billion chance of making any money at your art- no matter how talented you are--- if you think you're good, there is always ads to draw and send a pix in to see if you qualify to do sketches for cartoons, etc.

Sorry about the bk/mcd slam

My girlfriend works as an art therapist in a nursing home but she aslo worked with kids in a community center and YMCA while in school. Try getting a job at an art supply store or hobby store that way you can get a discount on supplies and use some talent doing classes for them. Good luck.

go to children's clinics and offer to paint a mural on their blah walls. they're always trying to keep kids happier in waiting areas instead of having them cry incessantly. murals cheer up bland waiting areas. also, buy furniture at garage sales and repaint it to resell at a higher price.
