I've noticed from experience that after showering in the morning and wearing pants for the day (without a belt), they fit normal... not loose and no need for a belt obviously. BUT, by the afternoon/evening they're practically falling off. I've never truly understood the reason for this.

The relaxed muscles which were flabby, especially around the belly, get toned up as you keep working (walk, sit, bend, etc.,) and that's the reason. You would have noticed this effect before and after the morning exercise, haven't you?

Jeans especially stretch out as we move in them and actually feel more comfortable at the end of the day. When we wash them and throw them back in the dryer they shrink back again.

Fresh, clean pants have shrunk a little from laundering. After you have worn them all day, they have stretched out.

We normally are puffier in the morning, that may be it. I find it to be the opposite on me, depending on what and how much I eat or drink during the day. Or maybe your pants have stretched from moving in them.
