While this question seems silly on the surface, it is, in actuality, very philosophical. David Hume, a well known philosopher, posed the very same question. There is no way to really know what blue is. We can only see the world with our own eyes. We can point at the sky and say that it's blue but what if another person sees the same blue sky and sees it as what we know pink. If that person always saw the shade we know as pink, and called it blue then there is no way to really know if we are seeing the same thing. We could be viewing the world in different colors and not even know it!

Technically, it is the reflection of white light where only some of the longer rays are reflected. The light rays of the other colors are absorbed, therefore leaving only the blue light rays for us to view.

i thought that was supposed to come after the definition in Jepoardy! my eyes i guess. the sky, the sea, the opposite of yellow.
