yep - they sling mighty quick into the stirrups. and you get a bigger impact if you're about to break off a size 11 foot in someone's butt that needed kicking. Useless to walk in, useful for riding, as a fashion statement, so marginal as to be pitiful. Pointy toes is a chick thing, looks bad on a guy. Pick a good pair of Python Boots (now go listen to your old Zappa records, or at least stay out of your boots long enough to find out where that reference comes from). Better a Goth Girl in Combats, than a Fashionista in Prada. Kick Butt !

Pointed cowboy boots are made that way to ease quick access into the stirrups.
And I resent the stereotype accusation that guys wearing pointed cowboy boots are homosexual. I've worn cowboy boots for 30 years (at least) and I can assure you I prefer the ladies any day of the week.
I wear cowboy dress boots and work boots.

Pointy-toed boots are for fashion. They also make good tools for killin' cockroaches in corners...

Pointy toed boots were made to make a shorter women's (or gay man's whatever!) legs look elongated giving them a taller look all together.
It's an optical illusion for shorter people to look taller and slimmer.

Shadow,
my dad wears boots all the time, and he is happily married to my mother.
as for the Q, they were used to kick you, the wannabe jackass. cowboys found it easier to slip thier feet into the stirrups with boots on. and i dont think you are a wannabe, just a jackass.
