I had sex mid October and I think I had a full period a couple of days after. Is there any way that semen could have stayed up there, because I am a couple of days late. I think I'm just freakin but hopefully someone can help me out. My urine has also gotten very dark and has a powerful odor within this last week?? Any suggestions - THANK YOU!!

Thank you so much for the advice. I appreciate everything. To the people that are purposely harsh - this is a place where people come for advice and help when they can't go to someone else. I do use condoms and birth control but accidents do happen. If I wanted these answers I would have gone to my family with this. Kepp in my mind the purpose is to be helpful not hurtful. Thanks!

I don't think your pregnant. Sperm can stay alive, but for about 48 hours. And if you did have a full period, then the egg left the ovary like 8-10 days after.
For peace of mind you maybe should take the test, but personally I'd wait another 2-3 days cause it may be a waste of money.
And by the way, those home test can give a false negative, but not a false positive.

It is possible that you are pregnant, but it is also possible that you are not. *Generally* women are not particularly fertile right before their periods, but it is possible. Sperm can live for several days inside the female body. It hasn't even been a month yet, though--give it a few more days and if your period doesn't start then go buy a test. Also, drink lots of water, that will help dilute your urine and, if you are pregnant, it is good for the baby. The stress of worrying if you are pregnant can make your period be delayed, so that could also be a cause of the problem.
Try to calm down and relax for a few days--if you're pregnant then you're pregnant and if you're not, then you're not. It isn't likely to change between now and say, next Wednesday. If you're not pregnant then your period will probably start. If you are pregnant then there isn't any sense getting stressed out about it.
Good luck!

I'm not an expert but all I can tell you is to be patient. There's nothing wrong on being a few days late, that happens to everyone. Just wait a few more days, if nothing happens than take a test or go see your doctor.
Just FYI
I was in the same situation once, I freaked out of course and in my case it was positive. I even considered abortion but then I thought, this is my baby, who else will care about him/her if not me! I decided to fight against the world for him/her, including my own family!. It was hard at first, but when she was born, everyone fell in love with her, even the people who criticized me to most. Now she is 3 yrs old, and I don't regret my decision! She is the love of my life, and the most beautiful thing that has happened to me! If worse comes to worse, I hope this helps. I honestly wish you the best!

MOst women ovulate about 14 days after the first day of their period so you probaly are not pregnant and sperm only live 2 or 3 days. Don't stress that can actually make your period late and your urine being dark is not a sign of pregnancy. The only reason women get a dark strong urine is due to the prenatal vitamins.
(sorry before anyone corrects me -- the main cause is prenatal vitamins there are others but they are rare)

Sperm can stay alive but I do not think you are pregnant. Urine can be dark if you are taking different vitamins or if you are not drinking enough water. Stress will delay your period too. Are there any other symptoms? nausea, painful boobs, stronger senses? I know you are afraid to take a test and really you could test too early. If you do not start in a week, bite the bullet and take the test. It will put your mind at ease.

Get the test and check. You wouldn't want to do anything that may hurt the baby if you are pregnant and wish too keep it. If you are not pregnant get to a family planning clinic and get birth control so you won't have to stress like this again untill you are actually trying for kids.

Take a test, that is the only way, every women body is different so you can not go on anything but a test, don't be scared, just do it. I'm sorry if I sound like a Nike commercial.

Just go and have the test. Buy one from the chemist and do it yourself. it will be over and done with in minutes, and then you will have peace of mind. if it is negative, then you can relax..if positive then it will be joyous!! Go do the test sweetie.
