7 day work weeks, rotating 24 hour shifts, mandatory overtime. Less vacation, sick time, leave with out pay time. But the best, put in 20 years at a corporation, you used to get a gold watch- nowadays you get a boot out the door!! and WHY? because someone half your age can get paid half you make and do what you have been doing-but without the experience and pride that you had put into your work.

Two words: status quo. They keep the working class down, while corporations keep getting richer and richer. Back then, an education means good enough pay to support a family of two kids. Nowadays, even a bachelor's degree won't get you very far in that.

Focusing more on working all day (more than a normal shift) and creating a high pressure situation instead of having a normal work-life balance.
