Don't listen to the walking the dog advice! I've been walking my dogs for years and all I get is elderly women glaring at me through there windows.

I guess you could think that they are friends just because by habit of passing each other on the sidewalk every day, we wave "hi" to each other, but that's not exactly a friendship.

The youth group suggestion was a very good idea though. I just joined one about a month ago. It's a lot of fun and you make friends really fast.

other than that, just do what you're interested in.

The walking dog suggestion was really good. I live in a small town and everyone knows the dog walkers! Also, see if you can find volunteer work in your town. Go to any public social event...church socials, bake sales, even garage sales. The more people see your face the more you become part of the community. Good luck!

Go to town and hit the markets. Usually small towns have something going on every weekend. Find out at the Community Center. I would rather live in a small town than a big City. You are so lucky.

Try getting involved with a theater group. They usually have a lot of people doing things for the group, scenery, lighting, acting and so with a diverse group like that - you might meet some interesting people.

Join some clubs and organizations. Take dancing, cooking, acting, or foreign language lessons. Join a church that has an active social program. Just get out there and meet people.
