This is what I did....Cut out most of my carbs, breads, starches(pasta) and white sugar (for breakfast and lunch I mostly did Spcl K cereal)...drank as many btls of water I could (with a straw). I tried to walk at least 30 min every other day. When you have extra time do the strength training exercises for abs...I like, on the "Cher" video, there is a 10 minute ab work out (from a million yrs ago) and the Special K video has a palates segment that is awesome. It doesn't look hard but.....

I have done everything to lose the extra in the belly area.My doc said from my C-section that it was not a even cut so the muscles are not even and it would be impossible to get a flat belly.Im not over weight or fat.Just not flat belly and luckily enough my husband accepts it.If its just your belly area that is fat then do sit ups.If you real over weight then DO NOT DIET because its a waste of time but eat less and do sit ups.

a healthy diet first off. then try pilates. it lenghtens and tones your muscles! man it doesnt feel liek you do much while your doign them since its just mainly stretching but boy does it hurrt sometimes! lol crunches will help alot. it will take alot of time so dnt get discouraged if you dont see the results you want in a few months or so!!
doing some cardio like joggng or just walking will help too. =)
im sure you can look online for differnt types of crunches you can do and the aresa those types of crunches will target.
stay motivated!
oh! i forgot to mention dancing. pilates and dancing go hand in hand. most ballerinas do pilates. any kind of dancer does. dancing also is fun! and burns alot of calories

Everyone had great suggestions but also try sucking in your tummy while exercising and try to do it all the time, it will start to go in and your exercises will be more effective.
-Good Luck
