I am 27 and at 25 i said i wanted kids when i was with a guy for a little while but left him because i wasn't ready to be with him. My sister has kids and I love them...but the thought of raising them older than when they are kids haunts me because I know kids can be a handful. am I just looking at the down side? I say I don't want kids at this stage and I don't have a steady partner...It was never my dream to have kids....or do you think that I am being this way just to be different?

Wanting kids is one of those things that changes with time and maturity. So find your man before you decide.

Some people should not be parents. That is all there is to it. Kids are a pain and they are not cheap. The best way to raise kids with with two adults that have a good relationship. Anything less is a hardship for the adults, and the kids. This is one case of, "If you are not going to do it right, then you are better off not doing it at all." You might change your mind at some date, but the main thing is that you know what you want, even if it isn't average.

I really don't know if you want kids or not. Only time will tell. My cousin and his wife, years ago, made a decision before they married that neither of them wanted children. They have the best marriage and a ton of fun!! They are both very active people and enjoy vacationing, rock climbing, river rafting, camping, cruises, and I could go on and on. Their choices are unlimited because they only have each other and no one else to worry about. I don't know if you will want to have kids later on...I have two myself and love them with all my heart, but I can't help but sometimes be a little jealous of all the fun they are having!!

You may never want kids, and that is fine. Lots of married couples don't want them. The world is overpopulated as it is. The news tells us there will be no more fish in the sea by 2048. Already the world has food and water shortages. Why reproduce just to do it? Kids can be a handful, and it costs a lot to raise and educate them. Enjoy yourself and your life.

No, I think you really don't want kids and make sure you are taking all precautions to not have them till you are ready if you ever are. No one says you have to, just enjoy your sister's kids. They are expensive and a handful to say the least. It's the next 18 years of your life and then some.

You will have motherly love when you get a kid. Don't delay it too much so as not to repent in later life.

You should go very slow & do some deep thinking about this.

If you don't have a strong feeling towards having a child then you shouldn't have one.
