Explain to me what an I-Pod is please.....

I know I sound stupid to most....but I really don't know

And if you don't know either gimme a yell and tell me so I don't feel alone!

an ipod is a small pocket size music player.they are much better then a walkman or discman,because with those you have to keep changing the tape or cd
but with an ipod you can have all your faves in one spot
they come in all different sizes such as
shuffle=very small about 100 songs
nano=small about 200-3000 songs,pics
ipod=large 5000-20000 song,pics,vids
it depends how many songs you would like to have on it.and if you want one that can have picks you can download onto it,and if you have some fave vid clips or music vids you would like to watch on the go.

The iPod is a brand of portable media players designed and marketed by Apple Computer and launched in 2001. Devices in the iPod range are primarily music players, designed around a central scroll wheel (although the iPod shuffle has buttons only). The full-sized model stores media on an internal hard drive, while the smaller iPod nano and iPod shuffle use flash memory. Like many digital audio players, iPods can also serve as external data storage devices. Apple chose to focus its development on the iPod's simple user interface and its ease of use, rather than on technical capability.

As of October 2005, the lineup consists of the 5th generation iPod that plays videos; the smaller iPod nano; and the display-less iPod shuffle. These models were updated in September 2006.

The bundled software used for transferring music is called iTunes. As a jukebox application, iTunes stores a comprehensive library of music on the user's computer and can play, burn, and rip music from a CD. Very little organization and no ripping or burning may be done on the iPod itself. The most recent version has additional photo and video synchronization features.

The iPod is currently the world's best-selling digital audio player and its worldwide mainstream adoption makes it one of the most popular consumer brands. Some of Apple's design choices and proprietary actions have, however, led to criticism and legal battles.

I-POD is a digital music player made by Apple (the people who make mac computers) the idea is you copy music from your cd's on to your hard drive then use the program I-TUNES to put the songs on your I-POD and take them with you. they now are capable of adding music and videos to certain I-POD models. they also can store pictures from your computer if you have the right kind. pictures such as album art so you can see the picture of the cd case while you listen to the song or to help you remember what album it is. the picture feature is cool because you can have pictures of your friends to lok at ot pictures of your family or girlfriend/boyfriend to show of to people. they are very ocnveniant even thought i dont like Apple at all. but portable MP3 players (portable digital music player) are very nice to have i just recently bought one from creative that just blows my mind and i love it. there you go hope that helps
