Wells fargo merged with first security not long ago. First security was a screw job if ever there was. I used to go to home forclosures looking for a deal so I could get into a home. I saw every bank in town represented at these auctions on the court house steps. 9 out of 10 were first security loans. I was not inpressed. Either they were loaning money out to people who had no business buying a house, or they were fast to close on a house. I have no idea if that has changed in the merger. I'd go with a credit union if I could and as a disclamer I have several accounts with wells fargo. However they are not my main banking account. They are just a place I use to move money around. Thats about it. I'd do some shopping around. It has been suggested that you look at a credit union. Thats a very good suggestion and I'd look into it if I were you.

That depends. If you need to use ATM machines alot, and I dont know where you live, I live up North and there are NO Wells fargo banks around, not in phila, or new york city, so you would have to check with the bank and see if they charge you to use other atms and WHERE are theres. There is nothing more annoying than to have your balance whittled away from service fees you could avoid by driving one more block down to the appropriate bank ATM! Otherwise, check and see what they will give you free (I assume you are opening a checking and a savings).

yes Wells Fargo is a good bank to join. They are open late and on saturdays. I have been with them a year and I have had no problems.

Yes, If you are someone who prefers using ATM and online banking any bank would be a great choice. Just make sure to stay away from Bank of America. Check out consumerist.com and see what people has to say about BofA.

I don't have a Wells Fargo near me to do business with but I can tell you to NOT do business with :

CAPITAL ONE!!!

THEY ARE HORRIBLE AND YOU WILL REGRET IT!!

We had to tell them to hit the road due to sooooooo many errors over a very short time. I hope others are paying attention to their books/finances or it may go unnoticed. Their customer service is HIGHLY disrespectful and in need of a major overhaul!

STAY AWAY FROM "CAPTIAL ONE" AND ANYONE AFFILIATED WITH IT!! and life will be good !!

It's pretty good. If you can join a credit union, they are much better deals.
