If you are worried that you just left. Talk to him and explained what happened. He will understand if you explained that you were surprised and were not expecting his confession. Explain how you feel about him. Nothing wrong with becoming nervous. Trust me he'll understand.

Play it cool. Simply explain you were really busy yesterday and had to rush around. Tell him something like tonight is more open and you could listen to his stories over dinner if that's cool. ♥

Well, the answer is surprisingly simple.
Talk to him, face to face and tell him how you feel. Tell him that you do like him and if you feel the need to explain your behaviour, then do that too.
