I used to do some silkscreening - how it is done is by creating actual "screens". One screen would be representative of each color in a design. A screen is made basically by taking a picture and breaking it down into varios colors. I might choose a blue sky for my first color/screen. I would then get my blue color (it is a special ink/paint) then put a little on the back side of the screen (the screen is like a canvas but with tiny holes in the areas you need the color to go through) and get a squeegie type of device and smear the ink over the holes in the screen. I would setup and do all of my shirts with clolor #1, let them dry and then grab screen #2 and my next ink color and lay this over the the last color and so on... If you do this right it looks a lot better but it is more of a process and generally (given more than two colors) more expensive. Each screen is subject to an individual setup charge and is an additional process for each shirt which is why multi colored Ts are much more expensive.

A transfer is simply an iron on. Easier to produce but you can see that it has an edge and the materials feel stiffer.

Silkscreening is a process in which the ink is absorbed/painted on the fabric.
Iron transfering is almost like a "decal." I'm pretty sure silkscreening will last longer.

do silkscreen. it is extra high priced yet i made an iron-on flow t-shirt for a pal and that i glance at it now and it is all diminished, etc. surely i'm no longer possibly confident, iron-ons could be much less complicated, or you ought to merely sell the links to pictures the place the purchasers can print out the designs. according to risk u can attempt that cafepress stuff. please tell me while u make this i could desire to make certain ur designs :)
