HELP! my friend is 20 weeks pregnant from a rape, she is considering taking misoprotol abortion pill, how safe is that at 20 weeks? She doesnt have any money to get a late term clinical abortion, are there any other options?

Im wondering that myself.I don't know why, i don't think she was ready to deal with the rape. She just told me yesterday, i need to know if there are any options for her, right now thats my concern.

No i am not the one with the baby. I don't beleive in abortion. All i want to know is if there are any other options for someone who is raped to get an abortion, is there a loan she can take. She won't have the baby, i already tried to convince her. I am concerned for her saftey.

This is not safe and could kill her instead of the baby, she is too far along to be taking a abortion pill. Tell her to make arrangement's to give up for a adoption, because there are a lot of people that can't have children and would love one. I don't think taking the abortion pill would be a safe idea. If she is 20 weeks along she needs to seek professional help to get through this and think about maybe giving the baby up for adoption after it is born. In most states they won't let you have an abortion after the first 3 months I believe unless they find something wrong with the baby or mother that deems it necessary for a late term abortion.

Look there are so many options then having an abortion. Why doesn't she give the baby up for adoption. There is a reason why she got pregnant with this baby. Also she may not know this but at 20 weeks this baby can hear, see, and feel. It would be very painful for it to go through an abortion. If she were to get an ultrasound now she would be able to see this child's gender. Please convince her not to do this. Or if you are this person, please think about what you do before this is done. 2 wrongs do not make a right. And the lord will judge the rapist who did this but he will also judge your friend, or you.

The Abortion Pill is an early abortion option for women who are 8 weeks pregnant or less. At 20 weeks she is too far along. If she didn't want to be pregnant when she first found out why didn't she have an abortion then? The only options for her right now is to get a later term abortion or gestate to term and give it up for adoption. In most states it is illegal for an abortion after 22 weeks.

In just 4 weeks if her baby was born it could survive...so a late term abortion now is just MURDER! Iam sorry help her find adoptive parents...and it will ot be hard there are just over 1 mill couples in the US activly seeking to adopt. And to whet the person above said there are only a hand full of states that allow late term abortion, where I live the state law requires that the hormone leval or ultrasound can not be a day over 12 weeks to have one done. SO 12 weeks, which is fair she knew she was raped 20 weeks ago! She could have gotten a Plan B pill then

Hey!! Are you dumb. WTH? You should never listen to your friends, you are the one that rule your own body. The last word is your word. Any advice is just that! Now I got to say if you didn't want to get pregnant you shouldn't have done it. But no one knows for sure if that pill works. But if it doesn't work your baby can be in serious trouble even harm you. You better go to the doctor. Getting pregnant, miscarriages and abortion all those are very painful process to go through but from all the three above the most beautiful is getting pregnant and going through it all the way. Because you never know if you will live your life with the concience that you kill your own baby the one who could have been the first. At least you could have have it and give it up for adoption. The only thing I have to say, for all the women out there trying for a baby and have the joy to have one naturally, bless you and remember love your kids, you may have it today but you don't know tomorrow. God work in mysterious ways!!

Most likely she would die if she did this. Misoprotol is only safe in the first eight weeks of pregnancy. No healthcare professional would give her this pill, though. Hippocratic oath and all. At 20 weeks, it looks like she's having the baby, or making a trip to a state where late term abortion is legal.
She may hate the rapist, but she will probably love her baby, at any rate. It's awfully bittersweet.

The abortion pill will not work this late. But abortion is NOT illegal at 20 weeks.
Please call 1-800-772-9100. The people there have factual, unbiased information about her options and will support your friend no matter what she decides to do. Sometimes they can even help a woman raise the funds she needs. Tell her to call as soon as she can so they can help her figure out what she wants to do.
I'll be thinking about her... I feel bad that everyone here is judging her. Is that how you would want to be treated if it was you?

She should have been given the morning after pill right after this rape occured. She needs to ask a doctor if it's safe for her to take an abortion pill at 20 weeks.
