We are a freedom loving nation that was founded on morals and uses that base to help the rest of the world out of problems. The government is strong and is decided by its people. We have resolved many conflicts around the world without them escalating and give billions of dollars and aid to almost any country that asks for it. My short answer, based on those facts, is yes, The United States of America is the greatest country on earth and I am proud to live and serve such a nation.

Yes it is the greatest. we have a system that let's people be who they want to be. We have freedoms that previous nations could only dream of. We have a sense of identity that no one can ever compare to. We have people that make goals and they go beyond them. we give to every country on Earth. We fight for freedom for people that will never know what to do with it. we make missiles that only target specific enemies to save civilian lives. When disasters happen in the world we are the first ones to help. We have factories and restaurants and businesses and houses that any other country would kill for. We put a man on the moon. But most of all we have an undying spirit of kindness. This country has it's faults but it is a country of love. But all good things come to an end. The hate and darkness of this world seem to be infiltrating us and it seems unstoppable. But I won't go silent into that good night. We still fight for what is right and moral. Even when we are surrounded by those who would like to silence us. We still defy those saying we can't. We still fight when we should have went down! We still fight!

No. America is the most powerful country in the world, and the richest country in the world, and probably the most affluent country in the world, the personal freedoms to be have here are exceptional, and it is great in its own right. But, its not the greatest. A lack of universal healthcare, less than expected educational system, and a top-heavy, trickle-down approach to labor keeps it from being the greatest.

Yes. Our ethnic diversity, strong laws and a high standard of living all contribute. I travel a lot, and I find we are much better off than other countries. Why? Buying power. The dollar still demands attention from the world no matter how much they like or dislike us. A good example is our trade defecit with Japan. What did they do with our money? Invested it in America!

In terms of GDP, it is the greatest nation.
In terms of military spending, it is the greatest nation.
In terms of medical spending, we spent the most.
In terms of corruption, we are #19, hence not the greatest nation.
In terms of health care and education, we are not in the top 5.
On the whole, we are slipping past middle of the road from being once a great nation.

Yes indeed. From thirteen colonies to 50 United States, a great nation emerged. There is no other place on the planet with our freedoms, rights, but also great responsibilities. God bless us, every one.
