AVG should be available as a free download on freegrisoft.com it was the last time I was on the site.

AVG is still available. Its new free version, AVG 7.5.4, was released about 10 days ago. Here is the link to get it:

And don't get Avast. Its not as good as AVG.

Avast is where it is at. I have heard and used AVG before but Avast is awesome. Not a memory hog. Customizable and it has a light software firewall. I run it on all my pc's at home and work. Cheers

This is a fallacy....AVG is merely updating it's older version of the free anti-virus utility to a newer free version. Visit their site to update to the newer one.

Free AVG 7.1 still can be downloaded from www.download.com, I use it, and every week I update the latest signature from their website.
Now they release version 7.5, so u can try it.

As the first answers says it is being updated. You must download the newest version since they are not supporting the older version with updates.
