If the universe and us included is made of stuff, where did the original stuff come from and can you make something i.e. the stuff from nothing.

That is what science is trying to figure out.

One theory is that all matter and energy exploded in a Big Bang from a point particle or singularity.

However, current technology prevents us from going back to time zero or the origin of the universe. At a point in time (just s tiny fraction of a second) all laws of physics break down and yields meaningless answers.

There are several other theories as well. Another thought (that has been largely abandoned) is that the universe was continually expanding, in cycles, from a Big Bang to a Big Crunch.

There is another theory that the universe is constantly folding over on itself, continuously annihilating and creating itself.

And in quantum physics, the is a concept which even suggest that reality, all of human experience, may be nothing short of a personal subjective concept without substance at all.

Quantum physics is a mysterious world that suggests that many of our concepts are too limited and that there are worlds we can't even imagine (parallel universes, many worlds, branes, dimensions, steady state, etc.)

Our knowledge and understanding of the universe is akin to the knowledge and understanding that an ant has of the world economy.

If a higher being is something then where did it come from?

I have no problem with people believing in higher beings but it's a satisfactory solution to your question, because of my question.

We don't know where everything came from, we only have some speculation about what might have existed before the universe as we know it.

One theory proposes that befor this universe, two membrane like objects were moving together in a different dimention and thier collision was the big bang and that matter is a result of the two membranes overlapping.

There is little to suggest this was the case, nothing to suggest it wasn't, and no way to test the hypothesis.

Science has recently shown that in a complete vacuum, a particle, along with it's anti-particle will sometimes appear (i.e. stuff from nothing). Mathematically this is possible because there is no net gain in energy. The big bang may have simply been someting like this on a very macro scale.

It's also possible that the Big Bang is the inverse of a black hole. With a black hole, everything falls into a singularity. It's possible that the reverse of this phenomenon exists, where everything explodes out of a singularity. It may not be explained yet, but that doesn't mean that it didn't happen.

Question: If matter cannot be created or destroyed,
where did the first(present)matter come from?
------------------------------------------------
Though, it is still a big question, if the "Big Bang" was
reasonably symmetric the universe should have started out
as pure energy, or as equal parts antimatter and matter
(matter can be destroyed and turned into pure energy by
combining it with antimatter, and energy in some other
form can be converted into equal parts of matter and antimatter).
The big question is, why do we normally only see matter around
us, and not equal parts of both matter and antimatter? (Of
course it would be pretty hazardous living around stuff that
could annihilate you!). There are a bunch of theories, but as
far as I know, nobody really knows yet.

Research is still being carried out on this topic.
Try searching google for 'big bang' and 'anti-matter'
